Cricket: Trying to make car camping cool.

Slide0007

I am more of a camp on the ground or in a tent kinda guy, but should I ever decide I want to car camp, I want one of these.  Outside of an airstream trailer Cricket trailers seem like the coolest homoe on two wheels.

Acording to the Cricket site:

"Enjoy the benefits of engineered materials that reduce tow-weight, allowing you to use the car you already own. The Cricket's shell, made from aluminum composite panels, provides an unprecedented degree of insulation without warping, mold or pesky formaldehyde fumes. The result is an economical, lightweight and athletic trailer that exceeds industry norms for innovation, aerodynamics and durability."

Not sure what that all means beyond this is a pretty cool trailer.  Check out the pictures of the interior on the Cricket website.

RAPHA ESPRESSO MACHINE

I think this would look lovely in my kitchen.

Rapha_coffee_01
This is a limited edition Copper Boiler espresso machine manufactured by Rocket Espresso Milano for the cycling company Rapha.  From the Rapha website:

Cyclists may imbibe many stimulants in their lifetime but the universally accepted (and legal) drink of choice for most riders seems to be coffee. Of course, the Italians have perfected the art for the whole world to emulate these days but it is still hard to find the perfect cup of espresso on any old street corner. A cup of compacted crema or a smooth flat white can be the perfect bookend for a ride. Some may even plan their training routes to ensure a stop at a café with a good machine creating delicious drams of espresso.

Fun stuff. But more importantly I need to buy one befor the limited run disappears.

Now this is what I call a fixie.

While on the lookout for a video of a guy with a 36" wheel bike I happened on a video of a guy riding this bike designed by JRUITER + Studio and I thought this is the ultimate fixie.   The bike has no gears at all but because of the design is the equivilent of a 1:1 fixed gear. This is pretty rad and if it isn't too expensive would be great to own.   From the designer:

The inner city bike rethinks what a “frame” is, getting rid of basic key components, and creating a new type of urban bicycling.

The inner city bike’s “essentials only” geometry gives new meaning to “less is more.” Sporting a free-wheel rear hub, 36” x 2.25” wheels, 150mm cranks and an 8” front disc brake hub. The riders position is adjustable, offering riders an adaptable, fun ride for those short commutes.

You can check out more images and details at inner city bikes.
