While on the lookout for a video of a guy with a 36" wheel bike I happened on a video of a guy riding this bike designed by JRUITER + Studio and I thought this is the ultimate fixie. The bike has no gears at all but because of the design is the equivilent of a 1:1 fixed gear. This is pretty rad and if it isn't too expensive would be great to own. From the designer:
The inner city bike rethinks what a “frame” is, getting rid of basic key components, and creating a new type of urban bicycling.
The inner city bike’s “essentials only” geometry gives new meaning to “less is more.” Sporting a free-wheel rear hub, 36” x 2.25” wheels, 150mm cranks and an 8” front disc brake hub. The riders position is adjustable, offering riders an adaptable, fun ride for those short commutes.
You can check out more images and details at inner city bikes.
This has been making it's rounds on the interwebs, but I thought I would share it here as well. Everyone knows I dream in Leica and when you watch this maybe you will understand why. The composition of this videa is great as well. It really is a joy to watch.
